IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Not Satoshi.

HBO’s new documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery has everyone talking, from the crypto crowd to beyond.

The film claims to uncover the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious creator of Bitcoin. As people buzz about it on social media, the Polymarket community saw over $44 million in trading as users placed bets on who Satoshi might be, with guesses like Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, Elon Musk, Gavin Wood, and Len Sassaman in the mix.

Directed by Cullen Hoback—who also made Q: Into the Storm, a documentary about the QAnon conspiracy—the film points to Peter Todd, a well-known Bitcoin Core developer. While Todd has contributed a lot to the blockchain world, he firmly denies being Bitcoin’s creator.

So, the mystery continues.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Faster. Stronger. More Efficient.

The latest Ethereum’s EIP proposal aims to speed up the network performance.

On October 5, Ben Adams, co-founder of Illyriad Games, seasoned developer and notable contributor in the Ethereum community proposed EIP-7781 seeking to reduce block time from 12 to 8 seconds, improving the overall network throughput by 50%.

This proposal might impact solo stakers that will need more advanced hardware to keep up with the faster processing and other developers propose further testing to ensure users are not left behind.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Meta does it again!

As if Meta Connect 2024 wasn’t big enough, the company has now unveiled Movie Gen—a powerful suite of AI text-to-video models.

Movie Gen can generate up to 16-second, 1080p videos and images from text prompts. The model understands these prompts for precise video editing and goes further by creating soundtracks, effects, and synchronized audio. It can even handle complex VFX tasks.

One standout feature? It can simply maintain a subject’s identity in personalized videos by uploading images.

Though still in the research phase, Movie Gen is set to become publicly available next year, with Instagram rumored to be the first to get access.
