gm gm,

Welcome to the last week of September, as we gear up for the much-anticipated "Uptober."

While we wait for the elections, Trump made headlines by paying for burgers with BTC, and Kamala Harris gave her first public remarks on crypto and AI.

Meanwhile, Mark Cuban is pushing to replace SEC Chair Gary Gensler, and Zuckerberg’s stance is clear: it’s either AI or nothing.

The fall leaves may be turning yellow, but the market could soon be going green.

As always, we’re using this space to provide you with the latest product updates and relevant industry news in the shortest form possible.

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Everything you need to know from Meta Connect 2024

Meta just wrapped up its two-day event, showcasing the latest in hardware and software innovations.

Zuckerberg revealed that Meta AI now boasts over 500 million monthly active users. It’s clear that Meta is determined to become the go-to for integrating AI into everyday life. In fact, Meta AI can now chat with you—if you're in the U.S., Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, at least for now. You can ask it questions and get responses in the voices of celebrities like John Cena, Kristen Bell, and Keegan-Michael Key, among others.

Here’s a quick rundown of the major announcements:

  • Orion AR Headset: The newest prototype comes in the form of standard glasses, allowing users to interact with 3D holograms. Paired with a wrist-based neural interface, users can perform tasks just by thinking or using hand gestures, along with voice commands.

  • Llama 3.2 Models: The new models include 11B and 90B multimodal versions, along with smaller 1B and 3B text-only models optimized for edge and mobile devices. Powered by Nvidia GPUs, these models seamlessly transition between text and images.

  • Meta's Ray-Ban Smart Glasses: These powerful glasses will let you experience the world in new ways, including real-time conversations in foreign languages. Plus, they’ll be able to remember things for you.

  • AI Studio: Now users can create custom avatars that can engage in full conversations, using their own voice, to interact on their behalf.

Meta also revealed the new Metaquest 3S headset, priced at $299, continuing its competition with Apple’s Vision Pro in the race for cutting-edge consumer hardware. Businesses will benefit from new AI tools for building assistants within Messenger and WhatsApp, enhancing customer support and sales.

In summary, these announcements are just another step toward an AI-driven future, as Meta doubles down on both AI and the metaverse.

And yet, we’re still just getting started.
