Manus is here, and it doesn’t need you 👋

The AI race is getting wilder. Fresh off DeepSeek’s launch, Chinese startup Monica has introduced Manus, an ‘agentic’ AI that thinks, plans, and executes tasks with no human input needed.

Powered by a multi-agent system, Manus has thousands of AI agents working together, making it 10x faster at solving large-scale problems. It also taps into X, Reddit, Telegram, and YouTube to process and refine information.

Early demos are insane! Manus can build websites, code games, plan trips, analyze stocks, and more, all from a single prompt. One demo showed it automating 50+ tasks simultaneously, while another user claimed it built an open-source alternative from scratch in just 25 minutes.

Monica says Manus outperforms OpenAI’s DeepResearch in GAIA benchmarks, setting a new SOTA across all difficulty levels. Despite being invite-only, access codes are already reselling for thousands.

Is AI autonomy officially here? At this pace, we might find out next week.

  • DuckDuckGo launches set of AI tools, including AI-assisted answers and chatbot.

  • Grok now supports tweet mention queries.

  • Sakana Labs’ AI scientist had its first research paper accepted at an ICLR workshop, handling idea generation, experiments, and writing with organizer approval.

  • Larry Page is behind Dynatomics, an AI-powered startup aiming to revolutionize manufacturing with optimized designs and automated production.
