your web3 & AI weekly roundup.

gm gm,

The elections are over, and the world can finally focus on new developments that promise optimistic times.

Trump's victory triggered a new all-time-high for BTC, reaching $76,943.12 just about 20 hours ago, and drove Polymarket's total election bets to over $3.2 billion.

In AI news, it's been a week of leaks: OpenAI accidentally revealed the full version of o1, and Alphabet's Project Jarvis made a surprise appearance in the Chrome store.

A clever marketing tactic or a developer's slip-up? Either way, good days lie ahead.

Here are this week's must-reads:

  • What’s changed in the crypto devs’ ecosystem? [report by Electric Capital]

  • Nvidia throned as the world’s most valuable company

  • Which are the hottest trends among web3 startups?

As always, we’re using this space to provide you with the latest product updates and relevant industry news in the shortest form possible.

Let’s go! @getenzyme

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Regular checkup on Crypto developers

In an upcoming report from Electric Capital, General Partner Maria Shen dropped some new insights from their ongoing analysis of 110,000+ developer profiles worldwide.

Asia has now edged out North America for the top spot in total crypto-building talent, though the U.S. still leads when you look at developer counts by country. And here’s a fun twist: 64% of crypto devs are actually based outside the usual tech hubs of California and New York. India and the UK round out the top three countries with the most crypto talent.

There’s a lot more coming in the full report, set to drop later this year!

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Nvidia beats Apple & Microsoft

Not a shocker, right? With the insane pace of AI advancements and skyrocketing demand for top-tier AI chips, Nvidia’s latest feat was almost bound to happen.

As of November 6, Nvidia's market cap hit $3.571 trillion, sliding past Apple and Microsoft, with its share price at $145.61 as of now.

This isn’t Nvidia’s first rodeo beating Apple to the top spot—they did it for a day back in June. So, the real question is: how long will they stay ahead this time?

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
What’s trending in crypto startups right now?

In a recent report from one of the top crypto accelerators, Alliance breaks down key insights from their data on the crypto startup ecosystem in the first half of 2024.

They found that Ethereum remains the go-to blockchain for startups, with Base seeing rapid growth as a Layer 2 option. The hottest sectors? DeFi, Payments, and AIxCrypto. On the flip side, DAOs and NFTs are losing momentum. When it comes to geography, the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia are the top regions for crypto startups. Interestingly, 39% of startups are led by solo founders, and a massive 72% are fully remote.

With upcoming regulatory changes on the way and AIxCrypto gaining traction, it’s a solid sign for crypto founders to keep pushing forward with their projects.
