can you feel the super assistant? 🤩

your web3 & AI weekly roundup.

is this a forward? join here.

gm gm,

Welcome back to one week closer to AGI and ChatGPT’s not-so-secret mission to become the interface to the internet.

Meanwhile, in crypto land, stablecoins just crossed $250B in market cap, and Tether? It’s going for gold. Literally.

As always, we’re using this space to provide you with the latest product updates and relevant industry news in the shortest form possible.

Let’s go! @getenzyme

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LEAH FROM ONEPROFILE
Still wasting time & $$$ to hire a dev?

Hiring great developers is a full-time job.

Most teams don’t have time for.

Between sifting through low-signal applications, coordinating interviews, and chasing no-shows, it’s easy to burn weeks (and serious budget) before you even make an offer.

That’s where Leah steps in ✊ a superhuman AI hiring agent built to find, screen, and hire world-class tech talent for you.

Leah sources globally, runs assessments, manages interviews, and surfaces only the top matches ready to deploy. Add her to Slack, and you’ll cut your hiring costs by up to 80% instantly ✂️

We’re opening up partnership opportunities for teams who want to start hiring right away with Leah on their side. If your team’s looking to scale smarter, not harder 👇

IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Yoshua Bengio hits the brakes!

Why the AI Godfather is building a model that doesn’t think like us?

In a world obsessed with racing toward AGI, Yoshua Bengio is taking a sharp turn in the opposite direction. One of the founding figures of deep learning and the most-cited living computer scientist, Bengio just launched a new AI lab called LawZero.

But unlike OpenAI or Anthropic, he’s not trying to make LLMs smarter or more human-like.

He’s trying to make them less like us.

Bengio’s motivation? He believes we’ve gone too far in designing AI systems to mirror human behavior, emotions, goals, even agency. “We’ve been using humans as the template for building intelligent machines,” he says. “But that’s crazy, right?” His point is simple but powerful: if we don’t fully understand our own minds, why are we replicating them in code?

LawZero’s mission is bold: build safe, honest, non-agentic AI. The nonprofit is already backed by ~$30M from the likes of Jaan Tallinn (Skype), Schmidt Sciences, and the Future of Life Institute, and it isn’t here to entertain or mimic us. It wants to create what Bengio calls a Scientist AI. This kind of model doesn’t act, doesn’t remember, doesn’t generate grand solutions. It just tells you: how likely is this thing to be true?

This sounds dry until you realize how important it is. Recent experiments show that state-of-the-art LLMs can “cheat” at games, resist being shut down, or display behavior that feels a little too strategic. These aren’t just bugs. They’re warning signs.

LawZero's bet is that AI doesn’t need to act like a person to be useful, especially in high-stakes fields like science or governance. Instead, it should act like a neutral, evidence-based assistant. Think of it as a model trained to tell you the confidence level behind a statement, not convince you of anything.

Importantly, this approach ditches the hype. No “sentient” chatbot. No fake empathy. No nudging. Just a rigorous, transparent system designed from day one not to go rogue.

Bengio’s stance isn’t anti-innovation — it’s a recalibration. As labs race toward more powerful agentic systems, LawZero could become a vital counterweight: a reminder that just because we can build human-like AI doesn’t mean we should.

The question now: will the rest of the industry listen?
