IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Musk dominates the headlines

Elon Musk has launched the America Party after a public feud with Trump, pledging a pro-tech, pro-Bitcoin agenda aimed at shaking up U.S. politics starting with the 2026 midterms; while the party isn’t officially registered yet, Musk says “fiat is hopeless,” Trump warns it’ll split the GOP, Tesla’s stock is wobbling, and the crypto world is watching closely as speculation swirls that Musk is quietly boosting his Bitcoin stash. if anyone can turn politics into a tech startup, it’s Musk, and now the real question is, who’s ready to pay their donations in Bitcoin?

Microsoft’s new medical AI tool, MAI-DxO, outperforms human doctors by accurately diagnosing complex cases with up to 85.5% accuracy i.e. more than four times better than experienced physicians while cutting diagnostic costs by up to 20%; by combining multiple AI models like GPT, Gemini, and Claude, it mimics a team of doctors working together, promising to reduce healthcare expenses and improve diagnosis, though it’s meant to assist, not replace, doctors and still needs real-world trials before wider use. If it delivers on its promise, MAI-DxO could be the first step toward true medical superintelligence.

Also, Elon Musk’s xAI launched Grok 4 on July 9, claiming it’s smarter than most grad students and capable of discovering new physics, with benchmarks showing it beating GPT-4/5 and Gemini 2.5 Pro on reasoning tests. A new $300/month “SuperGrok Heavy” tier offers developers access to its multi-agent model and code-fixing tools, while Grok 4 rolls out improved multimodal skills and deeper integration into X (formerly Twitter). The launch, however, follows controversy over past antisemitic outputs from Grok, prompting xAI to adjust system prompts as it aims to compete directly with OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
